Streeterville
Streeterville, named for George Wellington Streeter, is also home to Northwestern University's School of Law and Medical Center, the University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business, Loyola University, Kellogg’s Graduate School of Business and both Chicago's CBS and NBC TV affiliates. The Chicago neighborhood of Streeterville breathes wealth and elegance, with countless options for high-end shopping such as Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Versace, Bloomingdales, Tiffany, Nordstrom and the 900 North Michigan Avenue shopping center.
Chicago's number one tourist attraction also makes its home in Streeterville: Navy Pier is a favorite destination for locals and tourists alike, providing a day's worth of diversions on its huge ferris wheel, carousel, IMAX theater, cruises, dozens of shops and restaurants, Children's Museum, fireworks, Shakespeare Theater and seasonal performance offerings and events.
The Museum of Contemporary Art is a popular attraction in this area as well and showcases many contemporary fine artists, as well as a gorgeous outdoor sculpture garden.
Dating back to 1882, the Chicago neighborhood hosts extensive residential living in the form of high rises, brownstones, and mansions in its beautiful landscape. These areas boast a wonderful view of Lake Michigan and close proximity to the Loop, making it one of the most expensive and exclusive areas to reside in Chicago. Many of the homes in Streeterville are designated Chicago landmarks. Streeterville is also home to the site for the new Chicago Spire designed by world renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The Chicago Spire will be the world's tallest residential building at 2,000 feet tall. Please call on your Streeterville condo experts if you have any questions about the Chicago Spire.
For Chicago visitors and residents, shopping, dining, and entertainment are abundant. The Magnificent Mile runs through its western border, including designer boutiques, hotels, and fine cuisine. The John Hancock Center and Water Tower Place claim residence in Streeterville and residents also enjoy the beautiful Oak Street Beach for their morning run or afternoon stroll. CTA buses and free trolleys abound in this very easy to navigate area and cabs are usually plentiful; street parking is not. The closest El in Streeterville are the Chicago and Grand stops on the Red Line. With all the transportation options we recommend walking the area because it’s a great way to meet your neighbors, discover hidden gems, and get some exercise!

The Association seeks to preserve, promote and enhance a vibrant, growing and stable community by identifying, articulating and serving the needs of membership. Originally named The North Central Association, the Association was formed in 1912 to provide unity and vision for the area. Eighty-seven years later, the Association retains its original community spirit as volunteer led committees collaborate to preserve, promote and enhance the neighborhood through urban planning and advocacy, marketing and public relations and member events and programs. 625 North Michigan Avenue, Suite 401 Chicago, IL 60611 Phone: 312.642.3570 Fax: 312.642.3826 http://www.gnmaa.com/E-mail: gnmaa@gnmaa.comALDERMANAlderman Brendan Reilly 42nd Ward
